今天上課才知道每年的2月2號是外國的土撥鼠節--Groundhog Day



根據我們這隻專業氣象播報員, Sam 土撥鼠大哥的預測, we have 6 more weeks of winter...
為什麼呢? 根據新聞的說法 ...(全文)

According to groundhog lore, if it emerges on Feb. 2 and sees its shadow, winter will last another six weeks, and if not, an early spring is in the cards.

也就是說,當土撥鼠爬出他的洞(burrow)時, 如果牠看得到自己的影子(也就是牠背向陽光), 就代表冬天還要持續6個多星期, 但如果牠看不到自己的影子(當牠面向陽光時), 就代表春天近囉~
